Big Chill 2005 Great Malvern A quick visit to a pretty Worcestershire spa town en route to the Big Chill festival. please donate! copyright/licensing |
Our London train took us to Great Malvern station, where we had 40 mins to wait for the Ledbury connection. We decided to go for a spin around the town. Designed by local architect, Edward Wallace Elmslie, the enormously attractive Great Malvern Station features elaborate and richly decorated columns. Great Malvern is built on a steep hill and the town rose to prominence in the 18th century, when large numbers of people flocked to the Holy Well which had become famous for its ability to 'cure' a number of ailments. A view of the attractive 1860 station exterior at Greast Malvern. |
