Cardiff Bay
This view is now but a memory as the redevelopment of Cardiff's old dockland continues apace. The corporates decided that the 'unsightly' mass of mud exposed by the tidal flow wasn't good for business, so the entire bay has been sealed up by a huge barrage and turned into an artificial lake.
And it's not just the topography that's changing either - the name apparently needed updating, so it's goodbye Tiger Bay, goodbye Bute Town and hello to the infinitely more bankable moniker of 'Cardiff Bay'.
