Who can forget the thrill of their first funfair? The smell, the lights, the candyfloss, the noise and the promise of a rubbish cuddly toy prize - it still draws me in!

Business was clearly rather sparse when I took this picture at the superb River Thames festival by the Southbank, London (Sept 99)
