Broken down tube, Northern Line
A sadly familiar experience for Londoners is the long wait on trains due to broken down power units/signalling failures/people on the line/sheer incompetence.

I waited in the sweltering heat of the station for 15 minutes before giving up and walking to Oxford Circus station.
