Trellick Tower Created by Hungarian émigré Erno Goldfinger in 1973, this landmark, 31 storey, 322 feet high rectangular slab has long dominated the west London skyline. In the 1980s, the modernist block had acquired a fearful reputation for muggings, rape and other debilitating social problems. Modern security installations in the 90s transformed the building, with the block now enjoying something of a pop culture icon. In 1998, it was awarded a Grade 2 listing.
