The KGB Bar, E4th Street

Decorated in post-Soviet kitsch, this fine bar previously served as the home for the Ukrainian Communist Party's U.S. headquarters.

As well as serving beer, it also hosts a highly successful public reading series, making the venue a hit with the New York literary cognoscenti.
