Peep-o-Rama
This solitary survivor of the gentrification (or should that be 'Disneyfication'?) of 42nd St and Times Sq finally succumbed to property developers in Aug 2002.
In the early 1900s, 42nd Street was lined with brothels, followed by nude burlesque and male prostitution in the pre-World War II era.
By the 60/70s the street was full of peep shows, dodgy bookstores and massage parlours before Giuliani replaced them with corporate Disney/Warner Bros superstores.
