Barnoon Cemetery, looking east

This is St. Ives oldest cemetery (in use from 1803) and includes the grave of Alfred Wallis, the retired Cornish fisherman and rag-and-bone man (1855–1942) who didn't start painting until he was seventy years old!.

Wallis claimed he only started painting 'for company' after his wife died.
