Photos of Tenby, west Wales - part oneScenes from the Welsh seaside resortTenby (Dinbych-y-Pysgod), Pembrokeshire, South West Wales, UK [map], Sept 2012 Here's some more photos taken around the town, beaches and harbour of Tenby during a lovely late summer weekend. Tenby Museum and Art gallery. Victorian bath chair. View of the beach from the art gallery. Looking out to the harbour. Morning view. The Royal Playhouse Cinema, which sadly closed for good in Jan 2011. The cinema had entertained holidaymakers in Tenby for nearly a century, but the final straw came when the opening night of a new Harry Potter film just before Christmas 2010 only attracted 12 paying punters. The 'Stage Door Cafe Bar' opposite the closed cinema. Tenby harbour looking lovely in the late afternoon sunshine. Fecci and Sons Ice Cream Parlour. Interior of St Julian's Church by Tenby harbour, known as the 'Little Church By The Sea.' Built in 1878 to serve the seafaring community of the town, the church was built using stone from Caldey Island, with Bath Stone used to surround the windows and the door. Rain coming in off the sea. Inside Tenby market. On the beach. The ice cream van heads across near-deserted sands looking for potential customers. « back to Wales homepage Tenby beaches » |
