Bute Town/Cardiff Bay building During the 1840's the docks in Cardiff were developed by the Marquis of Bute to provide a port for the export of the coal produced in the mines of the South Wales valleys. By the late 1800's Cardiff had become the greatest coal exporting port in the world. Although a sharp decline followed in the 1950s, several impressive administrative buildings remain. please donate! copyright/licensing |
