Brecon Canal Basin Once a derelict eyesore, the Brecon Basin was extensively renovated in the late 1990s. The basin forms the terminus of the Monmouthshire & Brecon canal, which packs in six locks, five lift bridges, a tunnel and several aqueducts in its 35 miles. The canal is said to be one of the most beautiful in Britain, running almost entirely inside the Brecon Beacons National Park. [Aug 2003] please donate! copyright/licensing |
