Penarth Pier landing stage

Steamer traffic had always been the mainstay of Penarth Pier, although some feared a terminal setback when White Funnel cruises ceased operating in 1981.

Thankfully, the MV Balmoral and PS Waverley, operated by the Paddle Steamer Preservation Society, continue to call, providing trips to attractions like Clevedon, Minehead and Flatholm.
