Named after the the line of British cannons that protected the harbor in the late 1600s, Battery Park hosts several war memorials.

Seen here is the WW2 East Coast Memorial (1960) formed of a large eagle on a pedestal between two ranks of 4 inscribed stones, aligned with Statue of Liberty.
