Akrotiri lighthouse, Santorini

Built in 1892, this lighthouse stands on the southern cape of Santorini (Thira ) island.

The square tower stands 10m high above the lighthouse keepers house, and was petrol-operated until 1983. After electrification, the lighthouse became automated in 1988, flashing a white light every 20 seconds.
