London Loop: Section 5 Hamsey Green to Coulsdon South (part 2)
A fabulous stomp across snow covered fields

Part two of our wintery walk.
We paused for rum and ice cocktails.
Under all that snow is Kenley airfield, which first served in the First World War as a base for assembling and testing squadrons bound for France.
Later established as a permanent Royal Air Force station, it formed the headquarters for 'B' Sector in the No 11 Group of fighter stations and played a key role in the Battle of Britain.
The airfield is now the last remaining Battle of Britain fighter station in the southeast to remain in its World War II form.
The team leader is undecided as to where we should trudge next!
Snow covered cottage.
We stopped off at the Wattenden Arms for beers and lunch.
Icicle unicorns. Or something.
Down another slippery slope.
Frozen fountain.
