The Windsor Castle pub was attacked and set on fire during the 1981 riots, and was later demolished.
The burnt out pub after the riot.
The run down and dilapidated section of Mayall Road beyond the pub was completely cleared after the riot and replaced by social housing. Mayall Road was truncated, thus removing its northern junction with Atlantic Road and leaving a stub of road now known as Marcus Garvey Way/Bob Marley way.
