Brixton Windmill, detail
The less-than-satisfactory state of preservation can be seen in this picture, with the old Windmill surrounded by decrepit buildings.

The windmill was originally driven by wind and then by gas until milling ceased in 1934.

Now maintained by Lambeth, it's has been refitted with sails and machinery for a wind driven mill.
