Friends of Windmill Gardens, Brixton campaigning for the restoration of the gardens and the windmill on Blenheim Gardens, Brixton, London SW2

FRIENDS OF WINDMILL GARDENS, SW2

The Brixton Windmill was built in 1816 when Brixton Hill was nothing but open fields.

It was still a working mill in the early twentieth century but it eventually fell into disuse.

It is situated in a small park, Windmill Gardens, at the west end of Blenheim Gardens, SW2. (See area map)

A local residents' group, the Friends of Windmill Gardens, was established in 2003.

Our aim is to restore the Windmill and to transform the surrounding park into an area that will be valued by all the local community.

We have the support of Lambeth Council but we have a lot of money to raise.

Keep in touch with this site to find out what events are taking place and what progress we are making.
