Published in a programme for the Brixton Theatre, this advertisement for J W Ransted ('The Peoples' Butcher') offers cheap mutton from New Zealand, then a far flung outpost of the British Empire.


Feb 2008.

Although the chequered tiles give a clue to building's heritage, the premises now host a popular Japanese restaurant called Ichiban Sushi.
