Glastonbury 2007: Friday night to Saturday morning Three days in and I'm still snapping!. (Photos/words © urban75, 25th June 2007) Doughnuts stall, late night. Deserted main drag at Glasto. Still a few customers at the 24hr shop. Sunday morning by the Other Stage. A pixie hat wades across the mud. Ice creams by the Other Stage. The Brakes onstage. We liked 'em/ Reading the Q Daily was an essential part of the Glastonbury experience. Business was still brisk at the welly stores. Discarded boots and wellies that failed to make the grade. Muddy handprints by the Glade. Poems typed here! Busy scene by the Wishing Tree. There's no denying that Glastonbury has changed immeasurably over the years, but it still plays an important role for many campaign groups looking to reach out to people. So many choices! Turkish dancing. Whirling Dervishes. A dervish in the singular. Climate Change sculpture. We popped in a tent to get away from the rain and discovered John Otway doing a set. His version of Gloria Gaynor's , "I will survive" sung in the style of Bob Dylan was a treat! One of the things that makes Glasto the best festival in the world is the sheer amount of diverse talent on the site - wherever you go, you'll almost certainly find some interesting, funny or intriguing talent. « Glastonbury Festival homepage More photos » |
