We were invited out for a curry in Commercial Road and then some drinks at the Songbird Club - which was busted when we were there!
Main steps down into Liverpool Street station.
Busy street scene outside Liverpool Street.
Deserted car park.
Aldgate tube station. All the buildings surrounding the station have been pulled down, so the building stands in curious isolation.
Tubby Isaacs, 'quality jellied eels and shellfish.' This stall has been here for years on end - in fact I remember taking a picture of it when I first came to London in the late 1970s.
Ironmongers and braziers used to hang a frying pan outside their premises to advertise their business, and with several such businesses in this alley, it became known as Frying Pan Alley. Sadly, it's just a boring modern development now.
Verde & Company, old fashioned cafe at 40 Brushfield Street, E1.
Small, winding lanes around the east of Liverpool Street.
Hawkmoor's immense church at Spitalfields.
Walking towards Liverpool Street towards Aldgate station. Note the curved Swiss Re building on the horizon.
