We declare the first Urban Green Fair a success!
We had hoped to put on an Offline tent at the fair, offering a varied fare of acoustic acts, poets, stand up and DJs but the pesky Council's licensing shenanigans meant that it was not to be.
Naturally, we still went along to support this important community event and to enjoy the excellent bill which included:
"Speakers such as Mark Thomas, Peter Tatchell, Cynthia McKinney - ex US Democratic Congresswoman and standing for the Green Party US Presidential nomination, Doug Jewell; ex Liberty Campaigns co-ordinator, Derek Wall; Green Party Principal Speaker, Duncan Law from Transition Town Brixton, plus a host of poets and comedians."
The Urban Green Fair was powered by the wind, the sun and some people and will use virtually no fossil fuel.
Recycling in action.
In the transport zone there was a collection of unusual bicycles for people to try out.
