'Forward' sculpture

This completely bizarre resin sculpture by Raymond Mason stood in Centenary Square, baffling tourists and locals alike.

It was supposed to represent the march of Birmingham from its industrial past into the future, but met a sticky end on 17th April 2003 when it was burnt down by vandals.
