Brooklyn Bridge

Described as having "Gothic piers with functionalist cables and bridge deck", the Brooklyn Bridge opened to a great fanfare in May 1883.

Also known as the 'Great East River Bridge', the bridge spans nearly 6,000 feet, 1,595 of which are over water.
