Union Square from 13th Street
I was staying with my American girlfriend who had to go to work so most days I just wandered about New York, visiting art galleries, admiring the architecture and hanging out in cafes.
New York wasn't the safest of places in the 80s (particularly the Lower East Side) so I didn't take as many photos as I would have liked.
After witnessing my first ever street mugging within days of arriving, I tended to keep my camera well hidden!
