Steps and pillars

A view of the General Post Office on 8th Avenue and 33rd Street.

Built in 1913, the biulding is noted for its collonade of 20 53-foot-high Corinthian columns which support the famous inscription:

"Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds."
