Williamsburg's still a great neighbourhood to wander through, offering a photogenic mix of old industrial buildings, run down studios, welcoming cafes and hipster joints.

Sadly, the much-loved independent bookstore, the Clovis Press has now gone and been replaced by a, err, upmarket Bedford Cheese Shop.
