Royal Cinema When it opened in July 1939, the clean, modernistic lines of this 686-seat cinema must have cut quite a dash in Royal Square. The cinema still clings on to life, now split up into three much smaller auditoriums, housing a total of 430 seats. The frontage was recently altered for the worse with the addition of a Pizza shop.
