Brixton trams: a history
Brixton was connected to the tram system for over 75 years. Horse drawn trams first started in the 1870s, followed by cable cars in 1892 and finally electric trams from 1904.
Now long disappeared from our streets, we pay tribute this environmentally friendly form of transport which looks set to return to Brixton.
