c. 1930 Railton Road runs from Brixton up to Herne Hill railway station. This view was taken looking towards Brockwell Park from outside the station.

June 2003 Seventy years on and several buildings have vanished. The row of shops on the left have been replaced by an ugly 1960s development, while the white painted frontage of the long-defunct Cinema Grand can be seen on the right.
