May 1945 A week after Germany surrendered unconditionally to the Allies, a Thanksgiving Sunday parade marches past the Palladium Cinema and Lambeth Town Hall. In this picture, Mayor, Alderman Lockyer takes the salute of the Women's Services and Wardens marching towards central Brixton. Note the baroque architecture and dome of the Palladium Cinema.

Jan 2004 You can see how much the Palladium Cinema has changed in this rare traffic-free view looking up Brixton Hill. Now a popular club called The Fridge, the building has lost its attractive Baroque frontage and now sports a line of refrigerator doors above its entrance.
