Then and Now: Coldharbour Lane/Moorlands Estate
Photographic comparisons of old and modern views of Lambeth
c. 1912 A horse drawn cart can be seen clattering away from Brixton town centre, in this view taken just past the junction with Somerleyton Road. The gap in the buildings on the right marks Geneva Road. Just out of shot to the left is the fascinating Walton Lodge Sanitary Steam Laundry.

May 2003 The green space where the buildings used to be is deceptive - just behind the trees is the less-than-attractive Barrier Block, originally planned to act as a sound and pollution barrier to a proposed elevated ring road. The shops in the distance remain open for business, and the road has been widened.
