Then and Now: White Horse (Bar Lorca), Brixton Road
Photographic comparisons of old and modern views of Lambeth
c 1921 The imposing Ye Olde White Horse has been a fixture on Brixton Road for centuries (it appears on a route map of 1790), serving as a coaching inn, with a cab rank dating back to horse drawn days. The pub stands on the corner of Loughborough Road and Brixton Road, and in this view proudly boasts a 'Grand Billiard Saloon'

June 2003 Although the name has changed (it was called Bar Lorca in 2003 and is now known as JAMM) the pub has altered little over eighty years, although the Grand Billiard Room is now more likely to be shaking to the sound of one of our big nights out.
